Searching for the best rosemary oil for hair growth in India? Rosemary oil has now become one of the most discussed ingredients in hair care, and you will find plenty of products ranging from the smallest bottle of 100% essential oil to large bottles of ready-made hair oil. The prices vary anywhere between ₹1.50 and ₹18 per ml, and both types of products have entirely different uses. In this guide, we have compared the top 6 rosemary oils in India on the basis of their price, quantity, product type, and ingredient listing. We are Veda Harvest, and here is our rosemary oil; that's why we have included it in the first place. We compared labels and listed prices. We did not run lab tests.

Pure Rosemary Essential Oil VS Rosemary Hair Oil

It is necessary to mention the difference between "rosemary oil" before making any comparison. The first type is the pure essential oil of rosemary. This is the concentrated version of rosemary oil, which is extracted from the rosemary plant. It is available in small bottles and has to be mixed with other carrier oils such as coconut oil, almond oil, or jojoba oil before applying it to your scalp. The second one is rosemary hair oil, which already contains rosemary oil along with other carrier oils and herbs in the same bottle. Essential oils are expensive when considered per milliliter but are actually economical because only a small quantity of them is required.

Is Rosemary Oil Effective for Promoting Hair Growth?

The most cited research involves a study of 100 participants suffering from androgenetic alopecia that was published in 2015 and involved randomization. In six months, the number of hairs for the group applying rosemary oil increased by as much as the group applying 2% minoxidil, and they also complained less about itching on their scalp. Such findings are certainly promising; however, it was a small and limited study focusing only on one kind of hair loss. Hair loss that occurs because of stress, iron deficiency, or any other reason should be treated according to its cause. Consequently, consider using rosemary oil treatment as an effective and affordable addition to your daily routine for no less than three to six months.

Comparison Methods for the 6 Brands

These four aspects that can be independently verified include the price given, the bottle size, the price per ml, and the product category as either a pure essential oil or a pre-mixed oil blend. We also took into consideration the ingredients and usage directions given by different brands and retailers. Pricing was collected on 13 October 2026 either from the brand’s website or an extensive retailer in India, except for Dabur Vatika, whose price was collected during a June 2026 price collection. Prices tend to fluctuate; please check the price before purchase.

    1. Veda Harvest Rosemary Essential Oil

Our Rosemary Essential Oil is a one-ingredient oil which is described in the product description as pure, undiluted, and steam-distilled. It sells at ₹339 for a 30 ml bottle against an MRP of ₹799, which translates to about ₹11.30 per ml and is the cheapest among the three essential oils being compared. For its usage, mix two or three drops with a carrier oil like coconut or jojoba oil, rub it on your scalp, and leave it for a few hours or overnight before shampooing your hair. There are about 20 drops per ml of essential oils, so in a 30 ml bottle, there will be around 600 drops, and thus the bottle will last for a few months if used in a few drops each time.

    2. Kazima Rosemary Oil

Kazima is an Indian essential oil brand, and its rosemary oil is a good way to try rosemary without buying a big bottle. Truemeds sells the 15 ml bottle for ₹236 with an MRP of ₹263, giving a price of about ₹15.75 per millilitre. It is said to be 100% pure and natural, and the instructions are to dilute with a few drops with a carrier oil like coconut or almond oil. The product has sensible warnings like 'do a patch test before use', 'do not use near your eyes', 'do not use if pregnant, breastfeeding or on any medication and consult a doctor'. Per ml, it costs more than ours, and you get half the quantity, but the small bottle keeps the first purchase cheap.

    3. Soulflower Rosemary Essential Oil

Soulflower is a popular rosemary oil brand that is widely sold online in India. The listing by the retailer suggests that this product is for hair growth and fall control and that it has been clinically proven. However, this clinical proofing process is not described at all on the retailer site, so you can visit the company’s website in case it is important to you. Since this product is an essential oil, it must be diluted. It is the most expensive of the three essential oils here, at roughly one and a half times our price per ml.

    4. Dabur Vatika Rosemary Hair Growth Oil

Dabur Vatika rosemary oil is the most affordable option here, with a cost of around ₹149 for 100 ml, or ₹1.49 per ml according to a price roundup in June 2026. It is a ready-to-use hair oil containing rosemary, hibiscus, and coconut oil and is claimed to have been developed by dermatologists. As it is already mixed, it allows you to apply it directly to your scalp without any mixing. This convenience and lower price give you an opportunity to choose this hair oil with rosemary if you need the usual hair oil with rosemary. In turn, you have to keep in mind that you cannot control the amount of rosemary, and the company’s notification does not mention the percentage of rosemary in this mixture.

    5. Mamaearth Rosemary Hair Growth Oil

Mamaearth's rosemary oil is a ready-to-use blend with a long ingredient list. Along with rosemary leaf oil, it lists methi seed oil, curry leaf oil, bhringraj, brahmi and amla extracts, vitamin E, and a mix of carrier oils including coconut, castor, almond and sunflower. A 150 ml bottle is listed at ₹390 on BigBasket against an MRP of ₹419, about ₹2.60 per ml. The directions suggest applying it with the comb applicator, leaving it on for a few hours or overnight, and using it three times a week. It suits people who like a traditional Indian hair oil with many herbs in one bottle. As with any blend, rosemary is one ingredient among many rather than the main one.

    6. Pilgrim Spanish Rosemary & Biotin Hair Growth Oil

Pilgrim pairs Spanish rosemary oil with biotin in a ready-to-use hair oil. The price of a 100 ml bottle of this product is ₹324 at BigBasket in comparison with the MRP of ₹395, or ₹3.24/ml, the most expensive among the three available pre-made oils. The instructions include rubbing the oil onto your scalp, leaving it on for some time or overnight, and then washing it out with shampoo. Biotin is one of the widely used hair care components, yet all the studies related to biotin focus on people suffering from a biotin deficiency taking oral supplements rather than biotin application to their scalp. If you have an affinity for this brand and are looking for a ready-made rosemary oil, this one can be easily selected. In case you are buying rosemary, essential oil gives you more of it.

Choosing the Right Rosemary Oil for your Hair

    • Choose the type first. If you wish to control the concentration yourself and use your own oil, go for pure essential oil. If you wish to be more convenient, use pre-mixed oil.
    • Compare the price per milliliter among similar products. There is no comparison between pure essential oils and pre-mixed blends because while you need only a few drops of the former, you will need a few teaspoons of the latter.
    • Look at the ingredient list. The true essential oil will contain only rosemary oil. For blends, check where rosemary appears in the ingredient list.
    • Patch test. Because rosemary oil can cause irritation to the skin, apply some diluted rosemary oil on the inner arm for one day.
    • Be wary of big promises. No oil can guarantee hair regrowth, especially if your hair fall has a medical cause.

Using Rosemary Oil for Growing Your Hair

    1. Combine two to five drops of rosemary essential oil with one teaspoon of a carrier oil such as coconut, almond or jojoba oil.
    2. Pull back your hair and rub the mixture into your scalp, not just the ends of your hair.
    3. Massage softly using your fingertips for about two to three minutes.
    4. Leave it on for at least a few hours or overnight, then wash with a mild shampoo.
    5. Start two or three times a week and keep going for at least three months before you judge the results.

Never apply undiluted essential oil to your scalp or near your eyes and consult your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. It’s best to wash it off with a mild shampoo like our Anti Hair Fall Shampoo with Tulsi, Amla & Brahmi. For more on hair fall, read our guide on how rosemary oil can help with hair fall.

    Why We Recommend Veda Harvest

If you want pure rosemary essential oil, Veda Harvest gives you the most for your money among the three essential oils we compared: 30 ml at about ₹11.30 per ml, against about ₹15.75 for Kazima and ₹17.68 for Soulflower. It is a single-ingredient oil, so you know exactly what you are putting on your scalp, and you can set the strength yourself by mixing it with the carrier oil you already use. A few drops per use means one bottle lasts a long time, and it has 95 customer reviews on our website. To be fair, if you would rather not mix anything, a ready-to-use oil such as Dabur Vatika or Mamaearth is simpler. For pure rosemary oil at a fair price, Veda Harvest Rosemary Essential Oil is where we would start.
